Steven Berkoff's play THE ACTOR'S LAMENT played the beautiful Gaiety Theatre, Dublin September 1st to 6th 2014. Steven, Jay Benedict and me had a terrific time on stage and we got some great audience response. Here are some snippets from a few of the reviews:

...the minimal set allows Bernard and Benedict to highlight their considerable acting talent. The mime, particularly in Bernard's case, is extremely effective. She finger picks imaginary gloves from her hands like they are made of velveteen. And the physicality  complements Berkoff's visceral script.

Steven Berkoff still has amazing stage presence, and even at the tender age of 77 he can fill the auditorium with his voice. The two that join him on stage are no less impressive, with Andrée Bernard particularly catching the eye, as she glides across stage, holding the eye of the audience with a knowing grin on her face.

A mention must be had for the sublime Andrée Bernard who portrays an aging actress with aspirations to play the greats: Cleopatra, Clytemnestra et al, but is forced to take on a understudy role to a well known but inexperienced younger actress to pay the bills. Her monologues are feelingly put across and her movement is incredibly specific. It was a joy to watch her.
